Pisa is a city located in the Tuscany region of central Italy, best known for its iconic leaning tower. The city is situated on the banks of the Arno River, and it has a rich cultural heritage that dates back to ancient times. Pisa is home to many beautiful historic buildings, including the Piazza dei Miracoli, which is home to the famous Leaning Tower, the Duomo (cathedral), and the Baptistery. Other notable landmarks in the city include the Palazzo della Carovana and the Museo Nazionale di San Matteo. Pisa is also a vibrant university town, with a large student population that brings a youthful energy to the city. Lucca is known as an Italian "Città d'arte" (Arts town) from its intact Renaissance-era city wallsand its very well preserved historic center, where, among other buildings and monuments, are located the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which has its origins in the second half of the 1st century A.D. and the Guinigi Tower, a 45-metre-tall (150 ft) tower that dates from the 1300s.

The city is also the birthplace of numerous world-class composers, including Giacomo Puccini, Alfredo Catalani, and Luigi Boccherini.
